The Foundation’s fiscal year runs Mar. 1 – Feb. 28.

The Board of Trustees considers grant proposals at quarterly meetings, usually held in late April, July, October, and January.

Grants are awarded on a matching fund basis in order to encourage broad support. Equal matching (1:1) is required of organizations that are not tax-supported. That is, for every dollar the Foundation awards, the grantee is required to secure a dollar for the same project from another funding source. For organizations that are tax-supported, the required matching is 3:1.

Proposals are due approximately 10 weeks before each designated meeting. Board packets are mailed to Trustees two weeks before quarterly meeting dates.

Please call the Foundation office before submitting a grant proposal so that we may determine if your organization is eligible and if your proposal meets the granting guidelines. The Executive Director will be happy to explain proposal submission procedures, identify due dates, send you a proposal form, and answer other questions.
